CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Numerous immigrants and refugees aspire to embrace American citizenship and actively engage in American society, yet they frequently encounter hurdles, particularly with language proficiency. AmeriHelps aids those with limited English skills and other barriers in their pursuit of U.S. Citizenship. The Citizenship program emphasizes that acquiring U.S. citizenship is merely the initial phase, encouraging participants to become knowledgeable voters and proactive participants in their communities.

CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION

AmeriHelps assists students in getting ready for their U.S. Citizenship exams, administered by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, by offering both classroom teaching and one-on-one tutoring in U.S. history and civics.

CITIZENSHIP WORKSHOPSN

AmeriHelps conducts monthly Citizenship Workshops where community members can get help with their citizenship applications. Our staff provides direct assistance in completing the application forms. For details on applying for citizenship and workshop dates, please reach out to us.
